Genealogy Information
Grundy County Genealogy Indexes are available for public viewing. They are as follows:
- Births 1877 thru 1915 – To be available to the public for genealogy the birth record must be 75 years or older.
- Deaths – 1878 thru 1917 – The death record must be 20 years or older.
- Marriages – 1841 thru 1915 – The marriages have no date restriction, however a marriage must be 50 years or older to obtain the vital statistical information given on the back side of the license unless you are the bride or the groom.
- Marriages dating 1832 thru 1841 are located in the LaSalle County Clerk’s Office.
IN PERSON SEARCH:
If a genealogy searcher finds anything in the indexes, they may obtain a copy of that record for a $3.00 fee.
MAIL REQUEST SEARCH:
If the search is completed by mail request the fee is $9.00.

Any search, either in person or by mail, that is done after the above years, a fee of $9.00 is charged whether the record is found or not. If a search is done and the record is not found you will still be charged the search fee and a form returned stating that we could not find it in our records.
All copies issued will be stamped “FOR GENEALOGICAL PURPOSES ONLY”.
When you are requesting a search the more information you can provide on the person you are searching, the more successful the search we can perform.
